Max Verstappen, a Red Bull Racing driver, set the fastest lap in the first morning of testing in Bahrain, but it was around six seconds slower than the best time from last year's pre-season. Isola emphasizes that the 2026 cars won't be slow, and the initial development curve with new regulations is significant. He highlights that simulations from Bahrain indicate performance in line with last year's, which is impressive for a brand-new car.
